Potsdam Castle Tour

The OSA, the Student Chapter Potsdam, and the Berlin Optik Student Chapter are offering you a free guided tour to the famous palaces and parks around Potsdam. It was the city of residence for the Prussian kings and is a town of unique and stunning beauty. Large areas of the city were awarded official UNESCO World Heritage status in 1990.

The tour will take about two hours and feature many of the most important sites within the city. We organized tours on Sunday and Thursday.

OSA Optics and Photonics Congress

You can attend the events of the OSA Optics and Photonics Congress with a congress ticket. All information about registration fees you can find here.

About The Optical Society (OSA):

The Optical Society brings together optics and photonics scientists, engineers, educators, and business leaders.

It was founded to increase and diffuse the knowledge of optics, pure and applied; to promote the common interests of investigators of optical problems, of designers and of users of optical apparatus of all kinds; and to encourage cooperation among them. The purposes of the Society are scientific, technical and educational.

Job board

At the job board exhibitors can present their current vacancies to experienced engineers, researchers and young professionals for free. Interested applicants can get in touch with the companies directly at Laser Optics Berlin.

Poster session

Again there will be a poster session at Laser Optics Berlin. It will take place on Tuesday, 20 March 2012 from 3.20 p.m. - 5.00 p.m.

This is the procedure of the poster session:

  • welcome by the experts council
  • round tour (presentations of the posters)
  • award presentation ceremony (by TSB Innovationsagentur Berlin GmbH)
  • networking event

If the topic of your project paper or thesis has to do with optics/photonics, microsystems technology or other relevant fields (see study programs) you can apply!

The application form (incl. space for your abstract) you can find below.

Please note: Deadline for applications including abstracts is 13 February 2012.

Deadline for your poster (in PDF format, max. 5 MB) is 5 March 2012.

The posters (in A0 format) will be put up Monday 19 March 2012 between 12.00 and 1.00 p.m. and taken down on Wednesday 21 March 2012 at 4.00 p.m.
